
Coach Collins is entering her 8th year of coaching in the public education realm. In dedication to her craft, she spent 3 years coaching middle school at Tippit Middle School, where she once played. Coach Collins then spent 2 years as the Varsity First Assistant at Connally High School. She was a part of rebuilding the Connally program, which went two rounds in the UIL State Playoffs. In that second year at Connally and second year in the high school arena, she also was awarded the honor of TABC Assistant Coach of the Year. Coach Collins then returned to her hometown to serve for two additional years as the Varsity First Assistant at East View. This is her first year serving as our Head Girls Basketball Coach at Bowie High School.
In college, she played for a year and a half at Texas Lutheran before suffering an injury that cut her college playing years short. Coach Collins completed her Bachelors in Kinesiology at Texas State, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated with honors in her masterβs program and now holds a Masters in Sports Management from the University of Texas. In her spare time, she has worked with several AAU programs to develop kids in the Austin area. She is currently the founder and director of a non-profit program called Youth Sports Outreach, which is dedicated to making select sports affordable for low socioeconomic families.
